Potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent for skin. Soy is one of many phytochemicals (phyto = plant) chemicals that are biologically active against free radicals. Soy extract’s increasing use in anti-aging products is largely due to studies showing that its antioxidant genistein (a component of soy) has a collagen-stimulating effect and that various compounds in soy influence skin thickness and elasticity.

Researchers have also looked at Bifidobacterium-fermented soy milk extracts. On mouse skin and in human skin fibroblasts (lab cultured), this bacteria-modified form of soywas shown to stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid in skin. This was due to the amount of genistein released during the fermentation process.

1. Age-Related Macular Degeneration and Lycopene lycopene can help prevent age-related macular degeneration in animals, but studies in humans have produced mixed results.

2. Antioxidant: studies that use a supplement form of lycopene have produced much less encouraging results though lycopene does have antioxidant activity.

3. Lycopene for High Cholesterol Research is contradictory and most studies in humans use tomato juice (which has other healthy nutrients besides lycopene). Whether the antioxidant or other properties of lycopene help with high cholesterol is unknown.

4. Cancer Prevention and Lycopene Studies have shown that a diet high in fruits, such as tomatoes, and vegetables decrease cancer risk. CLA is marketed in dietary supplement form for its supposed anti-cancer benefit (for which there is some evidence, but no known mechanism, and very few studies done so far) and as a bodybuilding aid. Guarana , is a climbing plant in the maple family, Sapindaceae, native to the Amazon basin and especially common in Brazil. Guarana features large leaves and clusters of flowers, and is best known for the seeds from its fruit, which are about the size of a coffee bean. As a dietary supplement, guarana is an effective stimulant:its seeds contain about twice the concentration of caffeine found in coffee seeds (about 2–4.5% caffeine in guarana seeds compared to 1–2% for coffee seeds).

Hesperidin is a flavanone glycoside (flavonoid) found abundantly in citrus fruits. Its aglycone form is called hesperetin.Hesperidin is believed to play a role in plant defense. It acts as an antioxidant according to in vitro studies. In human nutrition it contributes to the integrity of the blood vessels.Various preliminary studies reveal novel pharmaceutical properties. Hesperidin reduced cholesterol and blood pressure in rats. In a mouse study large doses of the glucoside hesperidin decreased bone density loss. Another animal study showed protective effects against sepsis. Hesperidin has antiinflammatory effects.. Hesperidin is also a sedative, possibly acting through opioid or adenosine receptors.

Some in vitro results applied only to the aglucone form. Hesperidin also showed the ability to penetrate the blood brain barrier in an in vitro model.

4. Safety Concerns
Hesperidin is possibly safe for most people when used for less than three months. Side effects include stomach pain and upset, diarrhea, and headache.Do not use hesperidin if You are pregnant or breast-feeding.

5. Dosage Information
The following doses have been studied in scientific research: For the treatment of hemorrhoids inside the anus: 150 mg of hesperidin plus 1350 mg of diosmin twice daily for 4 days, followed by 100 mg of hesperidin and 900 mg of diosmin twice daily for 3 days. For preventing the return of hemorrhoids inside the anus: 50 mg of hesperidin plus 450 mg of diosmin twice daily for 3 months. For the treatment of leg ulcers caused by poor blood circulation (venous stasis ulcers): a combination of 100 mg of hesperidin and 900 mg of diosmin daily for up to 2 months.

Hesperidin methyl chalcone is a bioflavinoid. It is found in naturally high concentrations in the peel, pulp, and membranes of citrus fruit, such as grapefruits, lemons, and oranges. Hesperidin methyl chalcone has antioxidant properties, which help it to combat the inflammation and cell damage caused by free radicals.

In skin care products, hesperidin methyl chalcone improves the appearance of the characteristic, bluish-black circles that can form under the eyes. The skin under the eyes is much thinner than on other parts of the face and body. As a result, dark bluish-black circles can form under the eyes, giving a tired and prematurely aged appearance. These discolored areas are the result of blood flowing through the capillaries that lie just under the surface of the thin, fragile skin, which is almost translucent. Hesperidin methyl chalcone strengthens the capillary walls and lowers the blood flow passing through the tiny blood vessels. It also prevents blood leaking out of the capillaries by reducing the permeability of the blood vessel walls. With stronger capillary walls and less visible blood flow, the skin loses its bluish-black hue.
